www.chinaview.cn 2004-07-09 07:29:48

GAZA, July 8 (Xinhua) ¨C Palestinian Foreign Minister Nablil Shaath revealed on Thursday that Egypt postponed sending security experts to the Gaza Strip until Israel ends its military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Shaath said in a statement sent to reporters that Egypt has not canceled its security initiative presented to both Israel and the Palestinians, but postponed sending the experts due to the continuous Israeli army operations.

"Egypt would never accept sending experts under the current situation and under the continuous aggression that Israel is perpetrated in the Gaza Strip," said Shaath's statement.

He said that the Egyptian efforts are continued, adding that the palestinian National Authority (PNA) believes that the Egyptian initiative is the only exit from the current crisis and an entranceto a right track to implement the roadmap plan for peace in the Middle East. Enditem
