    HEFEI, July 7, 2004 (Xinhuanet) -- Following the confirmation of a new case of bird flu in the district, emergency measures have been adopted to prevent the spread of the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu virus.

    The local health authority has ordered the killing of all the poultry within a 3 km radius of the chicken farm and vaccinated all the poultry within a 5 km radius of the affected area. An official with China's Ministry of Agriculture said Wednesday that the reappearance of bird flu in Anhui is merely "a single case", which shows no sign of large outbreak till now.  Enditem
