BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Toyota and Shell have announced they will jointly test a new "gas-to-liquid" fuel to develop low emission vehicles.

The Japanese auto giant and Dutch energy powerhouse said the test will be carried out on ten of Toyota's Avensis cars, CRIENGLISH.com reported Wednesday.

They equipped the cars with advanced clean diesel engine technology to reduce nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions.

The cars will be driven by such entities as the British Red Cross during the experiment in London over the next three months.
