GAZA, July 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli army continued on Tuesday its military raid in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun for the seventh consecutive day, Palestinian security sources said.
They said that the Israeli army expanded its operations in the town late on Monday when some 10 Israeli military tanks and two bulldozers broke into the north of the Jabalia refuge camp.
The Israeli military machinery are still stationed at the entrances and junctions leading to Beit Hanoun, while Israeli military patrols broke into Palestinians' lands and properties, according to the sources.
They added that the local residents still suffer from serious lack of food supplies and medical care because of the Israeli military curfew and tight siege imposed on the town.
The Israeli forces had turned a nearby industrial zone into military base, the sources said.
In a communique issued earlier, the municipality of Beit Hanoun called on the international community and Palestinian Authority to work on ending the Israeli military aggression and providing food supplies and potable water to the town's residents. Enditem |
