DAR ES SALAAM, July 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The World Bank will provide Tanzania with a loan of 123.6 billion shillings (about 120 millionUS dollars) and another 26.4 billions shillings (about 26 million dollars) in grants for its secondary school development program under an agreement signed here Monday.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Permanent Secretary of Tanzania Finance Ministry Grey Mgonja said that the program will last for 10 years and the government will also contribute about 93billion shillings (about 93 million dollars) to fulfill the program.
The World Bank's Resident Representative in Tanzania Mrs. Juddisaid at the ceremony that the project is expected to double the number of students on receiving secondary education.
Under the program, the east African country will also try to modify secondary education scheme and improve secondary schools' infrastructure. Enditem |
