| Hamas warns Israel over resumption of airstrikes |

GAZA, July 5
(Xinhuanet) -- The Islamic resistance movement Hamas warned on Monday that the
natural response to the Israeli airstrikes against the Palestinian territories
would be to escalate resistance and rocket attacks.
"Escalating the resistance by firing Qassam rockets is the natural
resistance to the terrorist airstrikes," the movement said in a
communique.
The movement noted that the escalated Israeli
military airstrikes against Palestinian targets, particularly in the Gaza Strip,
indicated confusion within the Israeli government.
The
movement added that its armed-wing, Al-Qassam brigades, will not stop firing
rockets against Israeli targets despite the Israeli military incursion into the
northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
Meanwhile, the
movement strongly denounced the Israeli airstrike late on Sunday that targeted a
number of blacksmiths' and small manufacturing shops in different areas of the
Gaza Strip.
"The Israeli Apache helicopters shelled shops
that were targeted before and destroyed them completely without any
justifications," the statement said.
"These airstrikes are perpetrated amid a shameful international silence with a US cover to the Zionist terrorism while Arabs are hibernating," it said. Enditem |
