GAZA, July 4 (Xinhuanet) -- At least six Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire in the West Bank and Gaza within the last 24 hours, Palestinian medics said Sunday.

One Palestinian militant was shot dead early Sunday as he tried to infiltrate into a Jewish settlement near the West Bank city of Nablus.

Another Palestinian was shot dead Saturday night in Balata refugee camp near the city.

Four other Palestinians were shot dead Saturday, among whom a nine-year-old boy and a 16-year-old teenager were killed in the northern Gaza Strip village of Beit Hanoun.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian general security spokesman confirmed that Israeli soldiers stationed near the Jewish settlements of Gush Katif, west of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, attacked the Palestinian houses there with heavy gunfire overnight Sunday.  Enditem
