www.chinaview.cn 2004-07-03 19:36:52

GAZA, July 3 (Xinhuanet) -- The Association of Palestinian Hydrologists on Saturday called on all the legal institutions to work on disclosing the Israeli practices that aim at spreading diseases and epidemics in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.

The association said in a communique issued earlier on Saturday that the Israel Army has caused huge amounts of destruction in Beit Hanoun's infrastructure and violates all the international norms and resolutions.

The communique said "the situation on Beit Hanoun is growing worse, where the Israel Army has destroyed the main sanitations and sewage networks and mixed them with potable water networks, the matter that might cause an environmental and health disasters."

The associations called on all the legal and human rights associations and institutions based in the Palestinian territories to work on revealing these Israeli practices that cause the spreading of diseases and urged them to save the town from a health catastrophe.

It also called on all Palestinians living in the town and its surrounding areas to be extremely cautious in dealing with such issues and take the necessary precautions.  Enditem
