GAZA, July 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli Apache attack helicopters fired a rocket at the northern Gaza Strip village of Beit Hanoun Thursday, wounding at least seven people, Palestinian medics and witnesses said.
Israeli tanks, armored vehicles and bulldozers have been operating in the village for the fourth consecutive day after aHamas rocket attack on the southern Israeli town of Sderot killed two Israelis Monday.
The army has completely isolated the village from the rest of the Strip, imposing a curfew on the village and sealing off all entrances to the village by sands.
Israel said the offensive in Beit Hanoun was aimed at halting Palestinian rocket attacks on southern Israel. Enditem
