Fahrenheit 9/11 likely to arrive in China
www.chinaview.cn 2004-07-01 09:53:34

BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Michael Moore's provocative anti-Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" is likely to become the first imported documentary in China, CRIENGLISH.com said Thursday. It won the Gold Palm Award at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The film slamming US President George W. Bush was banned in the United States, but its release was authorized by the government after it won the Gold Palm Award at the Cannes Film Festival in May, reported Thursday's CRI online.

Sources indicate there's a strong possibility some of the violent scenes will be cut if "Fahrenheit 9/11" is screened in China.

The film, which is currently playing in cinemas around North America, was the top ticket-seller last weekend.
