SEOUL, June 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The body of a South Korean who was kidnapped and beheaded by Islamic insurgents in Iraq arrived at Incheon International Airport Saturday afternoon on a flight from Dubai, reported Yonhap.

Relatives of slain hostage Kim Sun-il and ranking government officials including Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon received the coffin carrying the body at the airport, according to the South Korean news agency.

The body will be transported immediately to Kim's hometown, Busan, some 450 km southeast of Seoul, by an Air Force plane aftera brief ritual at the airport.

The South Korean interpreter was believed to have been taken hostage on May 31 by a group of armed insurgents and was beheaded on Tuesday shortly after South Korea turned down his captors' demand to withdraw its plan to deploy more troops to Iraq. Enditem
