Iran takes wait-and-see stance on nuke issue: FM

TEHRAN, June 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Iran's decision on the nuclear issue was subject to results of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meeting on the country, Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi saidWednesday.

"We have to wait to see the results of the IAEA Board of Governors' meeting in order to adopt an appropriate decision," the official IRNA news agency quoted Kharazi as saying.

The IAEA Board of Governors will meet to discuss a draft resolution submitted by France, Germany and Britain on Iran'snuclear activities.

The draft resolution was the outcome of US pressure, said Kharazi, adding "commitments are bilateral. If the Europeans do notact in accordance with their commitments then there is no reason for Iran to abide by its commitment unilaterally."

Earlier in the day, Iranian President Mohammad Khatami also warned that the country might resume uranium enrichment if a draft resolution criticizing it for inadequate cooperation with UN inspectors is approved.  Enditem
