Blast hits oil depot in southern Russia, no casualties reported

    MOSCOW, June 5 (Xinhuanet) -- A blast hit an oil storage depot near Russia' s southern town of Neftekumsk early Saturday, but no one was injured, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported.

    According to preliminary information, the blast, which was due to an explosive device planted underneath a 5,000-ton oil cistern,took place at 0300 Moscow time (2300 GMT Friday), emergency officials said.

    Another explosive device was reportedly found under another cistern, and the police were trying to disarm it, the new agency said. There were no casualties, officials said. Enditem
