Hamas warns of dangers of Sharon's plan
www.chinaview.cn 2004-06-02 20:50:39

GAZA, June 2 (Xinhuanet) -- The Islamic resistance movement Hamas warned on Wednesday of the dangers of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's unilateral disengagement plan.

Hamas speaker in the Gaza Strip, Sami Abu Zuhri, said "we consider the plan dangerous because the Israeli military aggressions and assassinations are still underway in the Palestinian territories."

He added that Sharon's unilateral plan is aimed at deceiving the international public opinions, while at the same time, Israel still carried out military aggressions against Palestinians.

Asked if the Hamas movement will join the Palestinian leadership in case Israel evacuates the Gaza Strip, Abu Zuhri said hismovement's participation in the Palestinian decision making will be represented in the continuity of the resistance.

"We assert that the resistance will continue until ousting the Israeli occupation," he said.

He added that Hamas still hasn't been invited to the Palestinian dialogue due to be sponsored by Egypt, asserting that providing protection for Palestinians and halting the Israeli military aggressions is the movement's first interest.  Enditem
