GAZA, May 31 (Xinhuanet) -- About 2,000 Palestinian children held amarch in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on Monday to show solidarity with those who were rendered homeless by the latest Israeli military raid.
The march, organized by the Rafah-based Palestinian Juniors' Parliament, started from Al-Awda square in the heart of the town and then proceeded to Al-Barazil neighborhood, one of the most affected areas in the Israeli "Operation Rainbow".
The little protestors held Palestinian flags and banners that denounced the killings of children in Rafah and the international community's silence toward the Israeli massacre.
The children then gathered on the rubble of tens of demolished Palestinian house in the neighborhood and chanted slogans that called for international protection.
Chairman of the Palestinian Junior's Parliament Abdel Raouf Barbakh said the aim of this march was to denounce the Arab and international silence toward the Israeli military aggression carried out in Rafah two weeks ago.
"The Israeli army killed more than 21 children in less than two weeks in Rafah and injured many others and nothing was done about, these children are wondering about their rights and the protection they should enjoy," Barbakh said.
He said he hopes that the UN, UNICEF and countries involved in the Middle East peace process would respond to the calls of the Palestinian children and protect children from the Israeli war machine. Enditem
