LONDON, May 29 (Xinhuanet) -- British Foreign Secretary Jack Strawon Saturday issued a statement to condemn the deadly attacks that reportedly killed at least 10 people in the Saudi Arabia.

"I am appalled by the attacks in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia this morning and strongly condemn these acts of terrorism. I want to extend my condolences to the families of all the victims of these terrible attacks," Straw said in the statement, vowing that Britain stands with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in their fight against terrorism.

"Our ambassador (to Saudi Arabia) is traveling to Al Khobar, British officials in Al Khobar are also in close touch with the British community and the Saudi authorities," the statement added.

Straw's comment came as the British government repeated a warning to its citizens to avoid all but essential travel to SaudiArabia.

Earlier reports quoted Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah binAbdul Aziz as saying that about 10 Saudis and foreigners were killed in a shooting spree in the eastern oil city of Al Khobar onSaturday morning. Enditem
