Palestinian policemen to deploy on border with Egypt
www.chinaview.cn 2004-05-26 20:14:39

GAZA, May 26 (Xinhuanet) -- About 700 Palestinian police officers will be deployed on the Gaza Strip's southern border with Egypt after the Israeli military evacuation, Palestinian sources reported Wednesday.

They said Egypt is getting ready to send a special force in the area where it will take over the task of preventing arms-smuggling in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, witnesses reported earlier this week that a number of Jordanian officers were seen with Israeli military officers at the eastern hills of the West Bank, near the borderline with Jordan.

They said the Jordanians and Israeli officers were discussing issues in the area, where the Israeli government intended to establish a separation wall.  Enditem
