GAZA, May 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Israel army troops continued Wednesday their military operation in the northern West Bank city of Nablus for the fourth consecutive day, Israeli military sources reported.

They said the Israeli troops took over 30 Palestinian houses in the city while opening random fire against houses and pedestrians.

Armed clashes erupted between Israeli soldiers on rooftops and Palestinian armed men, witnesses said, adding that the Israeli soldiers also opened fire on paramedics and ambulances that attempted to access the area.

The city's residents expressed fear of the Israeli military operation, especially due to a number of Israeli forces deployed all over the city's neighborhoods.

The Israeli military operation in Nablus has injured five Palestinians, while a number of others suffered from suffocation due to the tear gas canisters fired by the Israelis.

The Israel Army has announced that the aim of this military operation was to arrest a number of Palestinians, who were said to be wanted b the Israel Army.

Israeli troops also raided the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem earlier on Wednesday and seized a number of houses before turning them into military bases.

Witnesses reported Israeli military undercover units had obliged many Palestinians to remain in one room of their houses and asked others to evacuate their homes.  Enditem
