BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese movie "The Green Hat," about a middle-aged man coping with his wife's infidelity, took the best narrative feature prize and its director was named best new narrative filmmaker at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Chinese filmmaker Liu Fendou won a total of 45,000 dollars for the two awards, announced Sunday night at the end of the nine-day festival in New York.
All the winning works are titles being shown for the first time on this continent, and several of them were world premieres, including "The Green Hat."
The festival, now in its third year, featured more than 250 films from 42 countries. It was designed to help lower Manhattan rebound economically after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
