¡¡BEIJING, May 4 (Xinhuanet) -- China will send a joint working group made up of officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Communications to handle post explosion affairs in Pakistan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said here Tuesday.

    Kong made the remarks in answering a question on the new situation of the explosion. Three Chinese nationals were killed and nine others were wounded earlier Monday when an unoccupied carexploded near their bus in Gwadar, about 500 km west of Karachi.

    Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali have sent letters of sympathy to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to convey comfort to the injured and condolences to families of the killed in the accident, Kong said.

    "The Pakistani side will ensure the best treatment for the Chinese injured in the explosion and take measures to ensure safety and security of all Chinese citizens in Pakistan," he added.

    "In addition, the Pakistani Communication Minister Senator Babar Ghori went to the hospital to convey comfort of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali to the injured," he continued.

    Chinese Embassy to Pakistan and the Department of Consular Affairs of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs have met the Pakistani officials from Pakistani Foreign Ministry and the charged'affaires and interim of Pakistani Embassy in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday.

    "During their meetings, the Chinese officials lodged representations on the explosion to the Pakistani side and urged them to try their utmost to rescue the injured and handle the related affairs," Kong said.

    Kong said the Chinese side urged the Pakistani side to find outthe cause, punish the killer and take effective measures to guarantee safety of Chinese people in Pakistan, Kong stressed.

    Currently, the Pakistani police are investigating the explosionand reporting the case timely to the Chinese side, he said. Enditem
