Sharon to advance pullout after referendum: Army Radio

JERUSALEM, April 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will move his disengagement plan forward regardless of the results of Sunday's Likud referendum, Army Radio reported Friday.

Lior Horev, one of Sharon's top advisers, said Friday that pullout supporters were feeling increasingly worried after polls showed that the plan would be rejected in the referendum.

A Ha'aretz-Dialog poll published Friday found 36 percent of Likud voters in favor of the plan and 43 percent against it.

Sharon has recently said the referendum has no legal standing.

Justice Minister Yosef Lapid sent Sharon a letter this week demanding that the plan be brought to the cabinet and Knesset (parliament) for approval even if it fails in the party votes.  Enditem
