Urgent: Denish defense minister resigns

    STOCKHOLM, April 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Danish Defense Minister Svend Aage Jensby resigned on Friday, said reports received here.

    The minister resigned because he came under pressure over government reports of alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

    Denmark supported the US-led war in Iraq and sent 496 troops there under British command in the southern cities of Basra and Qurnah.

    Jensby notified Prime Minister Fogh Rasmussen Friday about his intention to quit. Enditem
