Top legislator meets Czech president

    BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhuanet) -- China's National People's Congress is ready to enhance exchange and cooperation with the parliament of the Czech Republic to promote mutual understanding and political mutual trust so as to keep the two countries' relations developing, said Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo here Friday.

    Wu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, made the remark in a meeting with Vaclav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic.

    Wu said that China and the Czech Republic have enjoyed traditional friendship, and the bilateral ties have developed continuously.

    China is ready to work with the Czech Republic to promote cooperation on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, Wu said.

    Klaus said that his China visit is successful, and the Czech Republic will strengthen cooperation with China and further promote the traditional friendship between the two peoples after joining the European Union. Enditem
