PYONGYANG, April 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has yet to confirm a train explosion on Friday that South Korean media said has killed or injured up to 3,000 people.

The blast occurred Thursday afternoon when two trains carrying oil and liquefied petroleum gas collided and exploded in Ryongchon, a town about 50 km north of Pyongyang, the Yohap news agency reported.

Xinhua reporters here are trying to contact with DPRK authorities to confirm the report. Enditem
