Chlorine gas explosion kills five in SW China

    CHONGQING, April 16 (Xinhuanet) -- At least five people were killed Friday by explosions following a chlorine gas leakage accident in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, firefighters said.

    At the scene at about 17:57, Xinhua correspondents heard loud explosions from the Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant, where the chlorine leakage occurred.

    The fume can be smelt near the areas about 300 meters from the plant.

    Fire fighters estimated that at least seven liquefied chlorine gas furnace are letting out toxic fume. Enditem
