TEHRAN, April 6 (Xinhuanet) -- IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei said here Tuesday that he will discuss uranium enrichment and other related issues with Iranian officials during his visit to Iran.
"Uranium enrichment is among the issues I will discuss with theIranian officials today," ElBaradei said. "I will discuss the remainder of issues to be clarified regarding Iran's nuclear projects with President Khatami and other Iranian officials duringmy visit."
He said the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has achieved tangible results in performing its duties regarding Iran and its policy on Iran remains unchanged.
Iran announced last week to resume work on a key part of the nuclear fuel cycle, and declared that resumption of such activity did not violate its commitment to suspend uranium enrichment activities.
The IAEA's Board of Directors wishes to hear a comprehensive report on Iran's nuclear projects in June, ElBaradei said.
This is ElBaradei's third visit to Tehran since the UN nuclear watchdog started its new round of inspections on Iran's nuclear activities in February 2003.
His last visit to Tehran was on Oct. 16, 2003, during which he discussed Iran's nuclear activities with President Mohammad Khatami and Secretary of National Security Council Hassan Rohani. Enditem |
