GAZA, April 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement on Sunday vowed revenge for Friday's clashes between Israeli policeand Palestinian prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem in which 45 prayers were injured.

The group said in a leaflet that attacking Al Haram Al Sharif, called by the Israelis as Temple Mount, and opening fire at the prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque "would never pass without a tough punishment."

The statement expressed concerns "over the dangers of the Israeli policy against the Palestinian Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, especially Al Aqsa Mosque, which is for Muslims the first shrine and the third mosque.

"This campaign against our holy sites and against our prayers aims to frighten them and prevent them in the future from coming topray at Al Aqsa Mosque to turn the city into a Jewish one," said the leaflet.

It accused Israel "of not saying the truth that the Marwani prayers place at Al Haram Al Sharif is threatened to collapse," adding "Israel in purpose says so in order to prevent people from going there and build up their alleged temple."

Meanwhile, Islamic Jiahd also urged the Islamic and Arab worlds to interfere as immediately as possible "to prevent Israel from executing its plans that is aimed at destroying al-Aqsa mosque." Enditem
