GAZA, April 4 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior leader of Islamic resistance movement Hamas said Sunday that his movement hasn't decided on what kind of participation to choose in the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
However, Isma'eel Haneya told reporters one day after a dialogue among 13 Palestinian national and Islamic factions resumed that Hamas accepted the principle of political partnership.
"We believe in political partnership and we decided to participate in the Palestinian decision making because blood partners must be decision partners," said Haneya.
The first session of dialogue was held Saturday night at the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) in Gaza. It lasted for three hours and some leaders said the atmosphere was encouraging.
"On the light of the Israeli army withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, Hamas would decide on what kind of political participation the movement would go for into the Palestinian (National) Authorityinstitutes," said Haneya.
Leaders of all factions, including the Fatah chaired by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Hamas, have announced that they agreed to continue their dialogue until a joint understanding is reached.
The basic issue discussed in the dialogue was sharing the rulingof the Gaza Strip after the Israeli army pullout from the Gaza Strip, while forming a unified Palestinian leadership was another subject.
Palestinian sources closed to the dialogue said among the issuesthat all had agreed upon was the unity of all the Palestinians, andthe issues that are still under discussion include Hamas and Islamic Jihad participation in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the PNA.
Another issue which would be discussed is the Hudna (ceasefire) after Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza strip and whether armed attacks on Israel would continue or stop.
"If Israel pulls out from the Gaza Strip as a first step to be followed by a similar withdrawal from the West Bank, and this happens through a political agreement with Israel, then attacks would of course completely stop," the sources said. Enditem
