URGENT: Meciar, Gasparovic win first round of Slovak presidentialelection

    PRAGUE, April 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Former Slovak Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar and his former close ally Ivan Gasparovic won the first round of the Slovak presidential election, data released by the Central Election Committee said Sunday.

    The top two vote getters will advance to an April 17 runoff. Enditem
