URGENT: Blast reported near Uzbek capital

    MOSCOW, March 30 (Xinhuanet) -- An explosion occurred at a checkpoint near the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on Tuesday, leaving several people injured, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.

    Several people were hurt when the explosive device went off near a traffic police checkpoint in the Kibraisky region near Tashkent, the agency cited unnamed law enforcement officials as saying.

    The incident came one day after attacks killed 19 in two citiesof the Central Asian country. Enditem
