BEIJING, Mar. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Story "One Million", self-filmed by Beijing Nanhai Film Company has been invited to the competition unit of the 2004 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival to be held on Apr. 22 to May. 2. It is the first time for that film festival to invite Chinese film.

    Light comedy "One Million" is Directed by Liu Jun casting young Yang Xue and Zhu Yuchen, the light comedy "One Million", which can be called the "real Chinese version" of the classic "The Million Pound Note" starring Gregory Peck, tells a story of the changes in the life and love of a Beijing youngster who daydreams wealth picks accidentally one million cash. Executive chairman of the film festival said "One Million" wins the committee's eyeballs with its criticizing theme of real significance and streaming film language.

    Initiated in 1993, the annual New York International Independent Film & Video Festival makes itself known to the world with "new voice of independent films". World independent film masters such as Quentin Tarantino and Abel Ferrara will attend the gala this year.
