VIENNA, March 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Diplomats from nonaligned and Western countries Thursday debated on a draft resolution on Iran's nuclear issue in the backroom meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

    Canadian, Australian and European diplomats on the IAEA's Board of Governors met diplomats from the Non-Aligned Movement to revise the draft text. Delegates of nonaligned nations thought the draft was toughly-worded on some sensitive problems, suggesting to tone down the harsh language on criticizing Iran for withholding its nuclear programs from the IAEA, such as changing the word "deplores" into "strongly regrets", diplomatic sources said.

    The IAEA's Board of Governors meeting started in Vienna on Monday and was set to resume consultations Friday.

    The United States, Germany, France and Britain reached an agreement Tuesday on the draft resolution on Iran's nuclear issue,which admires Iran's cooperation with IAEA but criticizes Tehran for failing to expose sensitive information of its nuclear activities to the IAEA.

    In response to the draft, Iran expressed its disappointment with European countries Wednesday. Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi warned that his country would stop cooperation with the IAEA unless it stopped being "influenced by the Americans." Enditem
