Death toll of dengue fever rises to 415 in Indonesia

    JAKARTA, March 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The death toll of the dengue fever across Indonesia since January has increased to 415 and the sufferers to 30,234, a spokeswoman of the health ministry said here Thursday.

    "The cumulative figure for people died from January is 415, and the total sufferers is 30,234," Mariani Reksoprojo told Xinhua.

    She said that Jakarta is still the mostly infected area.

    Some 12 of the 30 infected provinces still had extraordinary cases, she added.

    Previously, the spokeswomen said that the Indonesian governmenthas instructed people for a health environmental movement to avoidthe further attack of this epidemic.

    The Indonesian government has been trying seriously to prevent further spread of the disease brought by aedes aegpty mosquito, byallocating a large number of fund to stop the spread of the epidemic.

    The Secretary General of the Prevention of the Infectious Disease of the ministry Syafei Achmad said that at least 89 percent of the sufferers had been in good condition. Enditem
