KATHMANDU, March 7 (Xinhuanet) -- At least three pedestrians were wounded Sunday afternoon when suspected anti-government insurgents exploded a bomb in an old bus parked near Ratna Park in downtown Kathmandu City, police said.
The wounded have been admitted to Bir Hospital in the capital for treatment, a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
The bomb was exploded on the eve of a nation-wide general strike called for Monday by a women's association of the anti-government insurgents, he added.
Another bomb exploded Sunday morning outside an office buildingat Damai area in Kathmandu City.
Window panes of the office building and neighboring houses wereshattered in the explosion. There were no casualties in the blast.
The anti-government insurgents intensified their violent activities in various parts of the country in the past few weeks.
Over 9,000 Nepalese people have lost their lives since the anti-government insurgency broke out in the Himalayan kingdom in early 1996. Enditem
