TAIYUAN, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A gas explosion killed at least two miners and trapped other 26 in a colliery in Jiexiu City, north China's Shanxi Province, at late night on Monday.

    Thirty-two miners were working beneath the shaft when the blast occurred at Jinshanpo Colliery, a township-run coalmine, around 23:20 hours on Monday, but only four miners escaped the explosion, according to Gong Anku, head of Shanxi Provincial Administration for Safety in Production.
