Blair fails to refute claim that UK spied on UN

    LONDON, Feb. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair Thursday failed to refute claims by a former cabinet minister that British intelligence agents bugged the offices of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan prior to the Iraq war.

    Addressing reporters at his monthly press briefing Blair said only that British intelligence agents act in accordance with international and domestic laws and any attacks against the country's intelligence system would be "irresponsible" acts that would undermine the country's security.
