BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- The city of Delingha in northwest China's Qinghai Province was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.0 onthe Richter scale at 4:21 a.m. Wednesday, according to China Seismological Bureau.
The epicenter is located at 37.6 degrees north latitude and 96.7 degrees east longitude. Obvious tremor was felt in the northwestern adjacent areas of the city.
An investigative team from the Qinghai Provincial Seismological Bureau has rushed to the quake affected areas to look into the situation. No injury or serious damages have been reported so far.
The city was hit by an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale on April 17 last year, leaving some 1,000 houses damaged butno one injured or killed. Enditem |
