HONG KONG, Feb. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Hong Kong Special AdministrativeRegion's Department of Health confirmed Friday an imported case ofdengue fever and urged the public to guard against the disease.
The new case is the seventh reported case in Hong Kong this year. All of the reported cases are imported ones, said the department.
A 27-year-old man developed fever and headache on Jan. 31, after he traveled to southeast Asian countries on Jan. 10. He returned to Hong Kong on Feb. 3
The man was recovered and discharged from Hong Kong's Prince ofWales Hospital.
The department said it is essential that the public stays alertto the threat of dengue fever and helps in the reduction of mosquito breeding.
Doctors here warn residents against mosquito bites and suggest putting all used cans and bottles into dustbins with covers, changing water for plants at least once a week, and covering tightly all water containers, wells and water storage tanks. Enditem
