Retired US general Clark quits Democratic presidential race

””WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Retired US general Wesley Clark formally withdrew from the Democratic presidential race Wednesday after poor performance in two primaries Tuesday in the South, where he had pinned his hope.

    "This is the end of the campaign for the presidency," Clark told supporters in his home city of Little Rock, Arkansas.

    The former NATO supreme commander had won only his neighboring state of Oklahoma in the 14 contests so far. He finished distant third places in the primaries in Virginia and Tennessee Tuesday. Enditem ””
