BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- The added-value of
China's agricultural industry reached 1,724.7 billion yuan (208.5 billion US
dollars) in 2003, rising 2.5 percent over the previous year.
Chen Xiwen, deputy director of the office of Central Financial Work Leading Group, said here Monday that this
number takes a percentage of 14.8 of China's GDP (gross domestic product) in
2003 which is 11,669.4 billion yuan (1411.1 billion US dollars).
Chen made the announcement in Beijing at a press
conference concerning China's rural economy and rural policies. Enditem
