MOSCOW, Feb. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart George W. Bush on Friday stressed their commitment to strengthen joint efforts in fighting against terrorism
During their telephone conversation on Friday, Bush also extended his condolences to Russian victims in the terrorist act staged in a Moscow subway train on Friday morning, Russian presidential press service said.
"George W. Bush expressed deep condolences to the entire Russian people from the US nation in connection with the tragedy that happened -- the terrorist act in Moscow," the Kremlin said in a statement.
"The leaders confirmed their mutual determination to intensify their efforts against the terrorist threat," the statement added.
Thirty-nine people are confirmed killed in the blast as of 3:15p.m. Moscow time (1215 GMT) on Friday and some 120 others have been hospitalized. Enditem |
