JERUSALEM, Feb. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon expressed Wednesday support for a referendum on his plan to disengage from the Palestinians and evacuate the Gaza settlements, Israel Army Radio reported Wednesday.
Ten cabinet members from the Likud party signed a letter to Sharon Wednesday demanding that he wouldn't make any unilateral decisions on evacuating settlements without first consulting with his party.
Sharon threw the Israeli political landscape into turmoil in a Monday interview with Ha'aretz, in which he said that he had ordered plans drawn up for a withdrawal from all Gaza settlements and three "problematic" West Bank enclaves within about two years. Enditem
