LANZHOU, Feb. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Four people died of carbon monoxide poisoning at a coal mine in northwest China's Gansu Province on Sunday, a provincial official in charge of coal mine safety said Wednesday.

The accident happened in Xiaoshankou, on the outskirts of this provincial capital. It was reported to the provincial administration of coal mine safety supervision early Wednesday.

The coal mine is a village-level one with legal certificates, the administration said.
