DHAKA, Feb. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Eight Bangladeshi pilgrims were reported killed in Sunday's stampede during a hajj ritual in Mecca, reported the private agency United News of Bangladesh here on Monday.

Hajj Counselor of Saudi Arabia Mesbahuddin confirmed the death of eight Bangladeshis being crushed under feet in the scrambles Sunday. Six of the victims went to perform hajj from Bangladesh, and another two were expatriates living abroad.

Mesbahuddin said Bangladeshi hajj officials have identified allthe bodies.

The casualty figure might not go up as Bangladeshi officials and volunteers have "completed their search in all hajj camps," and they had no knowledge of any injured Bangladeshi pilgrim at any of the hospitals searched, added Mesbahuddin.

As per Muslim's convention, funeral of these deceased would be held at Mecca before their burial at the Jannatul Mowla graveyard also at Mecca. Enditem
