Former French PM found guilty of illegal party funding

    PARIS, Jan. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Former French Prime Minister and current ruling party leader Alain Juppe was found guilty of illegal party funding and sentenced to an 18-month suspended term on Friday.

    The sentence means he is automatically barred from holding public office. But he immediately appealed and blocked the disqualification. Enditem
