UN to send election team to Iraq: Annan

    PARIS, Jan. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan saidTuesday the UN will send a team to Iraq if satisfied security is provided, to assess the feasibility of holding elections by mid-year.

    Once the US-led coalition can provide adequate security, the UNwill send a mission to Iraq, Annan said in a statement released during a visit to Paris. Enditem
