TAIYUAN, Jan. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- A coach carrying 28 people overturned Thursday, killing 14 including the driver in north China's Shanxi Province.

The accident took place at 7:55 a.m. near Gaoping City in the south of the province. Nine people died at the scene and another five died in a nearby hospital.

The other 14 people were all injured, some critically.

The initial investigation indicated that the coach was overloaded and the driver was fatigued due to overnight driving.

The coach left Houma City for Changzi County, both near the Yellow River, a journey usually taking four to five hours to coverthe 180 kilometers because the roads linking the two places are poor. Enditem
