HANOI, Jan. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- An addition of four flu type A suspects in Vietnam were hospitalized at the National Hospital of Pediatrics on Saturday and Sunday, the hospital's deputy director Nguyen Van Loc told Xinhua on Monday.
The suspects, aged between 5-10, are in stable conditions with simple symptoms of a temperature and cough, Loc said.
In the last three days, two patients died of the disease at thehospital, raising the total deaths there to 12, he added.
The hospital is treating six children, who are in fairly good conditions without assistance of respirators, Loc noted. So far, it has received a total of 18 flu type A patients and suspects.
According to local media, there have been 16 flu type A's fatalities in the country, including one in the southern Kien Giang Province. Five of them are confirmed to contract with H5N1, the virus found in poultry in 17 localities in Vietnam.
About 2 million chickens have either died or been culled in thecountry so far. Enditem
