BAGHDAD, Jan. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A US military Black Hawk helicopter crashed on Thursday while making an emergency landing in Iraq, and all eight people on board were killed, a military spokeswoman said.

The aircraft came down near the volatile town of Fallujah west of Baghdad. At least four of the victims were soldiers, she said.

"A helicopter made an emergency landing near Fallujah, there were four passengers and four crew members on board and there are no survivors," the spokeswoman said.

But she also said she did not know if the helicopter was hit by enemy fire before making the emergency landing and had no details about the reason for the crash.

The Fallujah area is always a hotbed of the fighting between Iraqi fighters and the US occupation.

Recently, anti-American insurgents have made several attacks on aircraft in Iraq. Enditem
