Pakistan,India PMs meet on sidelines of SAARC summit

    ISLAMABAD, Jan. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The prime ministers of Pakistan and India were meeting on the sidelines of an important South Asian summit on Sunday, the first direct talks between leaders of the two neighbors in more than two years, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

    Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his Pakistani counterpart, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, were meeting in a room atthe Jinnah Convention Center after it cleared out following speeches by the leaders of the seven nations that comprise the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, said the spokesman, Masood Khan.
